Elizabeth Park 2

Howdy Cobra kind !
Here’s a bit of information about our home game days at Elizabeth Park 2 and how things are set up and all of the other info about home hub team duties and so on.. A copy of the duties is always available at the container or shed if ever required but you can always refer to this post for future reference.
Each week when you check Gameday App or the FSC Game Centre these fields will appear if you are at home and as for the duties etc , they get sent to the team coach/manager and then sort amongst the teams that week.
Any problems give us a hit on secretary@rvjfc.com.au or danielrvjfc@hotmail.com
Oh and Elizabeth Park 2 is the big field that runs parallel to Rothery Street Bellambi
Play on ref..

A message from Mr President , Daniel Hunter.

I would like to Thank Erin Gordon for all her dedication over the last 5 years, she has been a pivotal part of our committee. Erin has provided plenty of notice to provide a handover to the next Registrar and plans on stepping aside by the end of the year. Erin has put together some context to the position to see if anyone can help in the Registrar Role moving forward. Please contact Erin at rvjfc1954@gmail.com or contact one of the committee members to advise if you are interested. The position can be completed by one person or shared with a friend.
___________
Club Registrar position available:
RVJFC are currently seeking a person or persons to fulfil the role of club registrar. The club registrar is responsible for the administration of players registrations and team placements.
No experience is necessary for the role of club registrar. The role will include handover, instructions, and ongoing support from the committee.
The role requires the registrar to be available for the two registration days and mini roo information day. Majority of the registrar’s duties will be completed in the lead up to the season.
This role could potentially be shared between two people, cutting the administration work in half.
Joining our committee:
Our committee are a friendly group of parents, who dedicate their time to make sure that the children in our community can play football in their local area.
_
Our club may be small in comparison to others in the Illawarra, but we are mighty in spirit and dedication. Two interrupted years of covid and rain damaged grounds this year has not stopped us from making sure ours and your kids can play the game they love.
I started with RVJFC club as a committee member five years ago. I continue because of the positive and fun atmosphere, the friendly faces in our community and because it is an easy well-run efficient committee.
_
If the term ‘many hands make light work’ is thrown around a lot in our club, it is because it is true for us. It is a saying our committee absolutely takes seriously, we are always there to help each other out. Being a part of such an inclusive and successful committee is something of which I am immensely proud.
There is no doubt in my mind that if you join our committee, you will be joining a no fuss, great bunch of individuals and that you will gain great satisfaction from it.

Please email Erin at rvjfc1954@gmail.com or catch me at the field on the weekend 😊
Regards,
Daniel Hunter

🐍🗣Mega Cobra Shout out 🗣🐍
As most of you are aware our home ground Cawley Park has suffered some watery injuries during the past months of wet weather and becoming so bad , that it is closed til it heals keeping us off for training and weekend game days! The club along with Wollongong City Council and our old boy mates Bellambi Rosellas FC have been able to acquire Elizabeth Park 2 as our temporary home ground until further notice. Club President Daniel Hunter ,along with other volunteer RVJFC committee members have worked hard for this to happen so our kids are playing again and close to home and finally this weekend Elizabeth Park 2 will host our junior games!!!!! The Cobras would like to thank everyone whole heartedly who has helped us out in the past few months especially the Hunter Family , the Nethercott family and the Taylor family and Dona Ward and her family who do so much behind the scenes that make the magic happen and our club survive! It does not go un noticed by the public and we appreciate everything you do !!

Important Information

Hi All,
Bellambi FC along with Wollongong City Council and Football South Coast have agreed to allow Russell Vale Junior Football Club to play at Elizabeth Park 2 to train and play our home games which is excellent news for our players but also for FSC players. This has been challenging to make this happen and i would like to thank our committee for making this happen. All training and games will be played at Elizabeth Park 2 effective from today and all necessary documentation has been submitted to cover our players that are registered to our club for insurance reasons.
_
Elizabeth Park 2 ground rules are the same as ours and please ensure we do not train in the goal mouths. Check that the ground is open on https://www.wollongong.nsw.gov.au/…/sport…/sportsgrounds
Training Allocations will be as per attached but transposed to Elizabeth Park 2, Bellambi. ie . Ground 1 is the Main Ground on the Southern side, Ground 2 is the middle ground running North to South and Ground 2B is the most Northern Ground. Those teams that were ‘South of the Creek’ will be allocated to share Ground 2B.
_
* Storage – The plan is to move the shipping container from Cawley Park to Elizabeth Park 2 this Wednesday to have the safety gear such as first aid, defibrillator, gear for training and game day. It will be located between Ground 1 and Ground 2 and can be accessed by all coaches with the key provided for the roller door at Cawley Park.
* Toilet – the toilet is located on the Western Side of the Ground 1 or Northern side of the Bellambi Neighbourhood Centre and will be opened on game days.
* Canteen – Canteen will be available on game days and setup besides the container. Currently we will have lollies and chips available and work on expanding the items we can sell as we mature through this new process. There will be cash and EFTPOS available for payments.
* Lighting – Lighting access has been provided to those who train at nights but if you need the lights on please contact Scott Taylor, Pete Nethercott or myself to turn the lights on.
* Host Games – We will be advising FCS that Elizabeth Park 2 is now our home ground and will be available starting this weekend.
* Ground Setup – There will be nets available for the U8/9 (Ground 2B), U10/11 (Ground 2) and Comp. Ground (Ground 1) to assist in setting up the grounds. U6/7 will continue to use the pop up goals as previous years. We will aim to have a committee member at the start of each game day to assist with the layout and setup and more information will come available to help understand the layouts for each home games.
__
***Duties Allocations for Home Games – All MiniRoo (U6 to U11) duties will be allocated by Ken Harris to Coaches and Managers to each team. Olivia Hira will advise the Comp teams of their duties if there is any overlap from MiniRoos. Each team will then allocate those duties to their team. Please remember that we are all volunteers and as most sports that only operate if everyone does their part so please help as much as possible and do a little bit more if requested. Any parent that does not help out with duties as part of our Terms and Conditions will be requested to advise their kids that they can not play at our club anymore. Attached is the details of the duties that will be allocated.
_
**Information for Match Day – Attached is the detail of how the day is organised and arranged in the ‘Team Official Information’ document for those who are new at the match days.
Please note – all details were explained at the Coach and Managers meeting for those who attended.
Using Elizabeth Park 2 is a big move for our club and we are very grateful, so please look after the ground and do not play on the ground if it is going to destroy the ground.
Please be assured that we are working with all government bodies and sponsors to install drainage at Cawley Park and i will keep you updated as large developments are made.
Enjoy your soccer and please let me know if you have any questions.
Regards,
Daniel Hunter
President of RVJFC

🗣 Update around the grounds FSC 🗣
There are two links on the Football South Coast post , please have a read of them about the season ahead.
The other link below is for the draw. The draw is updated as per ground availability , please check it closer to game day or contact your coach/manager for more info.
This weather sucks but we can’t control it , so all we can do is be patient and go along with Council & FSC because along with the clubs they have the players safety as the number 1 priority , lets hope this weather improves so our grounds can come back to life of kids playing soccer and having fun!!!
🌱 Cawley Park Update 🌱
Just a reminder that Cawley Park is still closed for training and games until further notice. Please do not take the kids there to train and this includes the main field (Cawley 1) the small field next to the tennis courts (Cawley 2) and even on the other side of the creek (Cawley 3).
All have been closed by Wollongong City council due to the poor surface after the wet weather of late. The link below shows updates of Cawley Park and other council grounds

We know it’s difficult but there’s nothing we can do other than find another local park to train on. Here’s hoping we get some game time this weekend !!
