Round 7

It was a pretty scrappy game against Corrimal. They were pretty rough and tumble. We managed to hold our own, with a few players being hurt in pretty ordinary tackles. Nash was away today, so we had no reserves, but all of the kids played well and tried really hard.

We had the majority of the ball, and had a lot of shots on goal that just missed. I think the scoreline of 3-1 implied the game was closer than it really was. Ben dominated in the middle, and there were a few good runs from the two Rileys and Ryan. Josh as usual was great in attack, but also somehow managed to be there when we needed him defensively too.

Olivia and Corey were great in goals. Olivia was unlucky to have a goal scored against her… the opposition were nowhere near 10m back when she took her goal kick, and they pounced and scored.

I dont think we were able to play our best football this weekend, but the kids tried hard and the result showed this. Player of the week this week went to Ryan, who was great, doing lots of good tackles, and beating a lot of players in the midfield.
