Today the girls came up against Figtree at Figtree. After a great win last week the girls hoped to continue on their winning ways. The game was a tight affair with very few scoring chances the first half saw us have one clear cut chance but Samantha missed the goals completely. The second half we continued to work hard in the centre of the park. The Figtree defence was quite difficult to break down and it wasn’t till late in the second half that Jasmin crossed a ball over and our new found goal scoring machine Samantha put the ball past the Figtree goalkeeper to make it one nil to the greens. (That’s Samantha’s 5th goal in three weeks).
The girls kept their shape and kept the Figtree forwards from coming near Tara in goals. It was a strong performance today against a determined Figtree with every player giving 100% effort. The coaches effort today went to Kyla who is improving every game and today didn’t stop running whilst out there. As the weeks go on each player is growing in their own confidence and developing their own skills which is great to see. Next week we come up against Woonona a team who beat us in round three of grading, let’s hope our success continues as we are sitting equal first on the competition table. Good effort by everyone lets all see you at training and continue the fun that you all appear to be having.
