Invite you to the
Annual Pink Tie Ball
With the Championship wrapped up the players could be excused for taking it easy but instead they went out and dominated the game from start to finish. Midfielder Christian Baade Mortimer and our goalie Ethan Johnson were both out due to illness so Clayton Walker and Brody Armour agreed to take a half each between the sticks.
Presentation Day
RVJFC Presentation day will be held on Sunday 28th October. This year we will be holding it at a new venue at the Woonona Bulli RSL Club auditorium as we have out grown the Russell Vale Community Hall.
Times for Presentation Day are as follows:
U6- U9: 10am-11.30am.
U10- U15: 12pm- 2pm.
So put the dates and times in your diaries and calendars and we look forward to seeing you all at the Presentation Day and celebrating the year at RVJFC in 2012.
Congratulations to the RVJFC 11.3’s on securing the League Championship on the weekend with a 4-0 win against a determined Figtree side. The team has been a model of consistency all year and the championship is a great reward for all the hard work the team and Shaun have put in this year. Congratulations team and let’s keep the momentum going into the upcoming semi-final series! See Shaun’s full match report and League wrap up on the previous post!
As some of you may have realised by now I’m English and as such winning the League Championship is the “BIG” one. Yes it’s always nice to win the Grand Final but that’s only based on a 2 or 3 game knockout system. Whereas, to be true Champions you have to play every team twice both home and away in all sorts of weather, on various types of pitch, under different officials and with a changed line up every week. Stretched out over the whole season there’s no harder competition to win, you may be lucky in a cup game but you can’t fluke the title.
Congratulations to the Russell Vale Vipers on securing their first victory of the season on the weekend against Oak Flats. After a few draws and a couple of near misses, the Vipers notched up a hard fought 2-1 victory at Cawley Park. Well done to all players and I am sure there were celebrations long into the afternoon. Good luck for the weekend and hope you can make it victory number 2!
