Rd 16 Newsletter

Congratulations to the Russell Vale Vipers on securing their first victory of the season on the weekend against Oak Flats. After a few draws and a couple of near misses, the Vipers notched up a hard fought 2-1 victory at Cawley Park. Well done to all players and I am sure there were celebrations long into the afternoon. Good luck for the weekend and hope you can make it victory number 2!

Pizza/ Fun night/ Fun day

With only 2 rounds to go the RVJFC Committee has once again approved funds for teams to celebrate season 2012. We have approved $5.00 per player and it can be used for a team activity such as a pizza night after training or some coaches last year opted to take their Team to McDonald’s after the last game of the season. If coach/manager could pay for activity/ meal and collect a receipt they can then be reimbursed by our Club Treasurer Dave Hughes. His email is at the top of this page for organisation of payment and collection of relevant receipts. Any questions regarding activity please forward them onto myself.

Cawley Park action this weekend

Not a lot of action at the Cawldron this weekend. Saturday is the only day we have matches and they are listed below:

SATURDAY MORNING:

Ground Duty Assistance

With only 3 rounds to go, I would ask all parents to assist with their relevant team’s ground duties over the coming weeks. It has been brought to the Committee’s attention that there are parents who are “not doing their fair share” and we have asked all coaches/managers to submit names of people who they have felt have not helped out on a regular basis. This will be followed up by the Committee and possible consequences discussed and implemented. Helping out on “a regular basis” can be defined as EVERY HOME GAME as there is always something to be done. Part of RVJFC condition of registration is that parents/ carers volunteer their time on duty days. It must be stressed the majority of RVJFC members are community minded individuals and contribute positively to the organisational requirements of the running of this great football club. These people need to feel supported in these ideals and this is the intent of the committee in this process.

Your help and assistance with this issue would be very much appreciated by one and all.

Upcoming Events

Presentation Day

RVJFC Presentation day will be held on Sunday 28th October. This year we will be holding it a new venue at the Woonona Bulli RSL Club auditorium as we have out grown the Russell Vale Community Hall. More details will be confirmed over coming weeks and will be sent out in future newsletters.

Not much else to report this week apart from the fact that I hope everyone is enjoying the Olympics coverage as much as I am!

Regards

Michael Benn

RVJFC President.
