Rd 4 Vipers v RV Pink

Russell Vale VIPERS Match Report

Round 4, Friday 4th May 2012

Friday night saw the Russell Vale VIPERS go up against Russell Vale Pink Ladies at the Cawley Park Cauldron under lights…

The Vipers knew before hitting the field that it would be a tough night on the paddock against the seasoned R.V Pink team….

Starting off strong the Vipers surprised the Pinks by being up near the goal early in the match after a big boot by Erin which had Renae and Helen up in the goal square hoping to get one in the back of the net, unfortunately the 1st elusive goal seems too hard to find to break the Vipers drought. Jodie, Jen, Patsy and Paula again worked well in the midfield and Wendy , Laura ,Linda , Cheryl , Tracey & Kerrie E were over worked in defending our brilliant goalkeeper Sheree.

Sheree directed the back line & defense letting the team know what she needed to keep them out of the net but unfortunately the experience of the Pinks shone through and they scored off some well timed hits.

Bonser flew up the right hand side of the field and connected with Nicole and then across to Jen to again have us up in the Pinks square but the lack of game experience was evident when we missed a couple of good chances on goal.

The passing skills that continue to develop over the next few rounds will have the Vipers starting to mix it up with the other teams. Next Sunday see’s the Vipers at home against Helensburg 10am, considering that we have played the two top of the table teams the last two weeks hopefully we have picked up some of the much needed game experience and learnt a thing or two so we will be more confident and get the ball in their net for a change.

The “Best Of Trophy” this week went to Bonser !!!

Again many thanks to all who supported our wonderful Mums team with a great turn out of spectators and official supporters and members of the Russell Vale Community who cheered, laughed and heckled!!! … It’s fantastic to have the kids and families cheering on the Mums for a change…..The refreshments ran well into evening, with both teams getting together to make the most of the local Derby evening.

Round 4 done with the following week seeing us at home the Cawley Park Cauldron to Helensburg at 10am Mothers Day…..see you all there!

Cheers
