U11.3 Trial No 2 v Bulli

Another successful performance against a team from a higher division.

The Cobras are traditionally slow starters and this game was no exception. Bulli made all the early running but as the half wore on Russell Vale began to get a grip of the game. Several players went close to scoring and Christian Baade Mortimer even hit the post. A couple of goals from Harrison Benn gave the side a deserved 2-0 lead at HT. Clayton Walker had been really solid in defence but unfortunately injury caused him to limp off at HT. He was replaced by Kade (borrowed from the B side) and he slotted in really well up front. With two of our first teamers missing Bailey Baade Mortimer proved what a versatile a player he is by playing up front, midfield and defence all in the same game.

Russell Vale maintained the pressure during the second half and Blair Dunn came very close to scoring three goals, however the final goal of the game went to Harrison Benn. It was his first home game for the club and what better way to start than with a hat-trick. Ethan Jones a spectator for most of the second half pulled off a good save towards the end of the game to maintain a clean sheet.

Once again from a coaching perspective I was very proud of the players, as a team they moved the ball around really well and created a lot of chances. Even my beloved Liverpool could learn a thing or two from the U11A’s on this form.

Regards,

SHAUN HAMLET
