Rd 9 Newsletter

It was great to catch up with Stan Starr a former president of RVJFC and life member of the club down at Cawley Park on Saturday morning. Stan was president of the club during the late 70’s and early 80’s and also coached at the club for over 20 years. Stan popped by the field to see how the club was travelling and he was very impressed with what he saw and heard. Steve Smart and I had great delight in hearing some of old Stan’s stories about the club and particularly some of the successful training techniques he employed when he was a coach. Steve and I presented Stan with a club shirt and we hope to see Stan down at Cawley Park again in the near future.

With the wet weather we are experiencing this week keep an eye on RVJFC website and also Council website (link on RVJFC website) as both these sites will have information regarding wash outs and ground closures etc. On Saturday morning tune into the local FM radio stations as they normally update all junior sports cancellations as well. Fingers crossed the weather clears and we get to play a full round of soccer!

Under 13.1 State Cup Update
