Rd 11 U11 Girls v Tarra

Russell Vale V’s Tarrawanna

After a great win the previous week against Unanderra the girls came up against Tarrawanna, before the game the girls were placed in equal first position on goal difference. We started with great confidence and attacked the Tarrawanna goal on a number of occasions with Brianna coming close with two great shots. A strong defensive game by the girls at the back led by Eden and Emily kept us safe in that department. Our forwards of Stella and Kayla played strong and peppered the Tarrawanna goal.

Our first goal was scored by our goal Scoring Machine Samantha. The Tarrawanna Goalkeeper made a number of good saves but in front of goals we let ourselves down. This week our Goalkeeper of Tara had to make a number of saves which she done in fine style.

The second half started the same as the first with a number of chances falling to the green and white. Tarrawanna looked very dangerous on the break and the defence of Sarah and Jezebel done a great job in stopping the attacks of Tarrawanna, as the game went on Emily took a little bit more control of the ball and was rewarded with a another great goal. We continued to remain on top and a strong finish by Halley who was filling in again from the U’9s scored to make it 3 nil. With a couple of minutes remaining we went to sleep and Tarrawanna got a well deserved goal. A great team effort with everyone putting in 100% effort to remain equal first with Unanderra. Today’s effort award went to Stella who was unlucky not to score. This week we travel to Thirroul let’s keep up the good work and continue to enjoy our soccer.
