Comp Cancelled

Hello Russell Vale Cobra Community!
As you have probably figured out by now ,our 2021 season has been cancelled due to Covid-19 and the NSW Governments restrictions. After having so many lockdowns and extensions it was the safe thing to do for all of our players and families but at least we got through the first 10 rounds and hopefully they created some great memories for the kids and hopefully enough for them to comeback in 2022 !!!
On behalf of the Russell Vale Junior Football Club committee and community we would like to thank all of our Players , Families , Volunteers ,Junior Referee’s and anyone else who has helped throughout the year to make the club as great as it is! Teamwork makes the dreamwork and that’s what RVJFC is all about so THANK YOU !! 🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍
A massive thank you to our clubs sponsors who have stuck with us throughout the past few years of Covid doom and gloom ,with them also feeling the affects of restrictions and lock downs due to the global pandemic. So if you need any local businesses please be sure to support our sponsors.
Major Sponsors – Woonona Bulli RSL
Bronze Sponsors – Baines Masonry Baines Concrete
A huge thank you to our team Coaches and Mangers too. You are the glue that keeps our kids together and with out you all it would be a crazy Cobra Town !!!!
We ask all Coaches/Managers who have still got their teams Kit Bags / Balls and any other items given to them to use for their teams to return their gear as soon as possible 😊 This also includes your shed key that was given to each coach!!!! Please remember to put a note in each bag with your coach name and team name so we can record who has returned their items πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™
Gear can be returned to the front porch of our Club President -Tony Maddox ,house just near Cawley Park sheds ASAP. If you are unaware which house please ask around or message us for the address πŸ˜‰
And last but not least , Thank you to all of our players !!!!! You kids are the future of football in Russell Vale ,NSW and Australia! One day you could be representing your country as a proud Russell Vale junior ! Keep the enthusiasm up as much as possible over the summer break by practising at home or playing Summer Soccer with your friends and hopefully we are back bigger and brighter again in 2022!!!
Stay safe Cobra Fam and we’ll see you in 2022

RVJFC COVID-19 UPDATE

Attached is the latest details about the 2021 season and beyond from Football South Coast.

Unfortunately the situation has changed quite rapidly within the last week and since meetings with clubs, and with the increasingly high number of COVID cases and the likelihood of further lockdown extensions, it is extremely unlikely that our competitions will resume.
If there is any chance of football resuming under the Public Health Order (as per attached calendar), FSC and member clubs acknowledge the need to provide football for the mental and physical health and well-being of our community, therefore there may be a possibility (albeit an ever reducing one) of facilitating friendly games for interested clubs and based on ground availability.
Please refer to the below link which will provide information in relation to:
– Football activity resumption dates based on feedback from clubs and Football Councils and as mentioned, regrettably, this is looking less and less likely to occur
– Decisions around League Champions and Promotion / Relegation
– Fee structures, we request any further queries be directed to your clubs in the first instance.
We all hope you take care and stay safe.

COVID-19 UPDATE

🐍 ⚽️ 🦠🦠🦠 COVID-19 UPDATE 🦠🦠🦠⚽️🐍
The following changes will be in play till at least next Thursday 1/7/21
Main Points are below and review the additional notes below:-
* Anyone attending football matches or training MUST wear a mask EXCEPT children under 12. Including spectators, coaches, managers, substitutes etc.
* Parents and spectators are asked to limit attendance where possible.
* Social activity before and after is discouraged. We recommend arrival on-time prior and departure soon after games.
* Restrictions on movements who either live or work in seven named LGAs (Bayside, City of Sydney, Canada Bay, Inner West, Randwick, Waverley and Woollahra)
* Capacity restrictions now apply so that spaces must have no more than one person per 4 metres squared, and masking also applies.
Additional to these items we have made the following changes to home games this weekend:-
* There will be no BBQ this weekend and it will be replaced with the coffee machine being setup outside for the BBQ duty.
* Please ensure that the COVID message is read to ensure compliance at our home ground.
* Please keep the change rooms closed.
– We have purchased additional masks which have been placed in the canteen if anyone forgets their own but we expect all people at Cawley Park to be wearing a mask.
– Gloves are to be worn in the canteen
– Use the ‘one serve’ sauce packages
Wear your mask, practice social distancing, and if you’re unwell, get tested and then stay home.
Thank you in advance for your help to keep everyone safe

CAWLEY PARK CLOSED

Hi Cobra Kai
After inspecting the grounds after Friday and Saturday’s games in the wet, it’s been decided that we cannot train at Cawley Park (Ground 1/2/2b) for the next two weeks and then we’ll reassess , and we hope the seniors can respect this request also. The risk of utilizing the ground in this condition, is the closure of Cawley Park for an extended period of time by Wollongong City Council Council and Football South Coast.
Coaches /Managers if you could please arrange for your teams to train on the back fields over south of the creek or incorporate fitness/running sessions where possible.
So please do not train on the Cawley Park main ground (Ground 1) or the adjacent ground Cawley Park 2 (Ground 2/2b) for the next two weeks, in an effort to preserve the ground for this coming weekends games and the remaining games of the season.
Cawley Park & Cawley Park 2 can be used for the weekend games if the ground is not closed by the Council or RVJFC advise it is not safe for our players.
Finally we would like to thank our groundsman Peter Nethercott for your continued efforts keeping the Cawley Park grounds look as good as they always do before and after game day ! We all appreciate your support in a common goal of looking after the hallowed turf of Cawley Park , Royal Russell Vale.

New Ride on Mower

New addition to RVJFC
Recently Russell Vale Junior Football Club purchased a brand new Husqvarna Ride On mower.
Maintaining our great hallowed turf of Cawley Park is very important to our club , keeping the fields looking great for our children to play on and visitors from other clubs seeing that we care and that is where our Groundsman Peter comes in. Pete prides himself on keeping the ground looking great and is often there when we are all at home after a big day after his own job putting in hours voluntarily making it look great!
Last night Pete was there with our new ride mower( named “Husky”by Pete) during and after training even with a torch on his helmet when it got dark getting Cawley Park ready for this weekends coming games before the rain hits! It did not go unnoticed with a few comments in local community facebook pages all praising Pete for his efforts.
On behalf of all the Russell Vale community , Thank you Peter Nethercott for your hard work and also to all volunteers who have helped keep Cawley Park looking so green and cobra slick πŸ’š
